In 1977, 3-month-old Amanda Scarpinati was hospitalized with third-degree burns after falling into a humidifier.

A black-and-white photo captured a young nurse comforting her—a photo Amanda cherished through years of surgeries and bullying.

For decades, Amanda dreamed of finding the nurse. After a 20-year search, she posted the photo on Facebook. It went viral, and within a day, the nurse—Susan Berger—was identified.

She remembered Amanda as a calm, trusting baby and still had the photos herself.
