I still remember this moment like it happened yesterday.Dad, sitting at the table in his favorite red sweater, holding a plastic cup of lemonade with both hands —like it was the most precious thing in the world.
To you, it might just look like an old man drinking juice. But to me, this was my father in his purest form: calm, focused, and hilariously dramatic.
See, Dad never drank anything quickly. He had this rule — "Life’s too short to rush a good lemonade."So every time he took a sip,he would close his eyes, hum softly, and act like a world-class wine taster. 😂
I remember as a kid getting impatient."Dad! Come on! Let’s go!"But he would just smile and say,"Patience, son. The best things in life are sipped slowly, not chugged in a hurry."
Over the years, this small funny ritual became our thing.Whenever life got too fast or stressful,we’d sit down together, make lemonade, and have a “Sip Slow Session.”No phones, no distractions — just father and son, laughing at how seriously he could analyze a simple drink.
Now that I’m older, I realize what he was really teaching me.He wasn’t just tasting lemonade. He was tasting life.He was reminding me to pause, breathe, and appreciate the small joys.
And even today, whenever I sit with a drink in hand,I hear his voice in my head:"Easy now… sip slow. You’ve got all the time in the world."
That’s the thing about fathers like mine.Even their funniest, silliest habits turn into lessons that last a lifetime. ❤️🍋
