The Day Dad Gave Away His Shoes

One hot afternoon, we passed by a construction worker sitting barefoot under a tree. His shoes had completely worn out.Without thinking twice, Dad took off his own shoes — sturdy, comfortable ones — and handed them over. The worker protested, but Dad insisted, laughing, "I have plenty at home. Plus, these shoes already know how to work hard."
That simple gesture made me realize true wealth isn’t in the number of things you own — it’s in the number of lives you touch.
Dad walked the rest of the way home barefoot, smiling the whole time. And I walked behind him, proud and trying to match every step.
