My dad loved three things:Lemonade, life lessons, and his blue baseball cap.He wore it everywhere — rain or shine, day or night. He called it his “thinking cap”.Mom called it “that old rag”.

One breezy afternoon, we went for a walk.I remember him saying,"Son, always wear a hat. A cool head makes wise choices."

Just as he finished, a strong gust of wind swooped in and — WHOOSH! —the cap flew off his head and soared like a paper airplane.

Without hesitation, Dad took off sprinting. Now mind you, Dad wasn’t exactly a track star. But in that moment, he ran like an Olympian. 😂

The hat bounced off fences, floated over bushes, and even landed in Mrs. Callahan’s birdbath. But Dad didn’t give up.He leapt, slid, and at one point —crawled under a parked car to grab it.

When he finally stood up, cap in hand, covered in dirt and grass,he grinned at me and said,"Son, THAT’S how you hold onto your dreams… even if they blow away." 🧢✨

That day, Dad didn’t just save his hat —he gave me a lesson in never giving up (and maybe not wearing loose hats on windy days). 😂
